Accessibility Plan

AYCC is committed to creating spaces that are accessible to as many people as possible for both our in-person and online Power Shift events.

There will be dedicated accessibility point people available for the online and in-person events, who can assist with any needs that may arise before, during or after the online event.

The programs for both summits will incorporate regular breaks.

If you would like to further discuss your accessibility needs with our team, you can contact us at powershift@aycc.org.au. We will do our best to make the event accessible to you.

Below is an overview of all accessibility considerations specific to each event.

In-person Power Shift

The event will be held at the Brisbane Showgrounds. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilet facilities. There is an elevator and escalator access to the upper level.

There are accessible car parks located near the elevator and taxi access. There are two train stations and a bus station located in close proximity to the venue.

The rooms are equipped with hearing loops. Auslan interpretation will be provided.

Statutory braille signage is installed throughout the venue. Tactile indicators are featured at all grade changes within the venue.

There will be a quiet space available throughout the event and regular breaks during the program.

Power Shift Online

Closed captioning will be available for the digital event. Image descriptions will be provided.

All materials (slideshows, worksheets, etc) will have plain-text versions as well. These can also be provided to attendees ahead of the event upon request.
