As a movement of young people fighting for climate justice, we join together from all walks of life in a radically inclusive and accessible movement. In line with these values, AYCC will be taking strong measures to make Power Shift a COVID-safe event and to reduce risk of transmission of COVID.
Our approach will be to follow the most recent health advice to manage the risks and to go above and beyond existing government restrictions where necessary to make this a safe event.
We are running Power Shift as a hybrid event to ensure that anyone who is unable or uncomfortable attending a large event in-person can still be part of this powerful moment.
We will be requiring attendees to have up to date COVID-19 vaccination status if they wish to attend in-person, unless they have an exemption.
We will ask all attendees to bring a mask and wear a mask while indoors at Power Shift. Wearing a mask will be optional in outdoor spaces and small group settings.
We will strongly encourage all attendees to take a Rapid Antigen Test on the first day of attending Power Shift before arrival, and not to attend if the result is positive.
We also ask that attendees do not attend the event in-person if they are experiencing COVID symptoms. Anyone who has bought a ticket for the in-person Power Shift and is unable to attend due to having to isolate will be eligible for a partial refund and to instead attend the digital event.
We will be working closely with the venue to ensure that the venue is as well-ventilated as possible to reduce the risk of transmission.
We will ensure regular cleaning of high-touch areas throughout the three day event. There will be hand sanitiser available throughout the venue.
We are unable to provide Rapid Antigen Tests to all attendees, however we will have some Rapid Antigen Tests available for attendees who become unwell while at Power Shift.
We will adhere to a principle of transparent communication with attendees at all times, and share the latest information with attendees regarding COVID risk and any positive cases at the event.
If you have any questions about the measures we will be taking, please get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We welcome feedback on how to make this event as safe and accessible as possible.
