Power Shift is a big, multi-day event.
We know that not all of us have the same access or financial capacity to afford tickets or the transport and accommodation involved in participating in-person.
But we don’t want this to be a barrier to having voices from all walks of life in the room co-creating our visions for a better future. That’s why we’re offering scholarships to folks from historically marginalised backgrounds, rural and regional residents, and those who would benefit from the financial support to attend Power Shift either online or in-person.
We have three types of scholarship available:
Free tickets (in-person or online)
We’ll cover the ticket price of attending either in-person or online - whichever you choose.
Travel scholarship (in-person only)
We’ll cover return travel to Brisbane from wherever you are in so-called Australia, as well as two nights of accommodation in Brisbane close to the Power Shift venue. We have 50 travel scholarships to offer.
Full scholarship (in-person only)
These scholarships will cover the full cost of attending Power Shift in-person: a free ticket, accommodation, transport to Brisbane, food expenses, and public transport around Brisbane. We are aiming to offer 50 full scholarships for the in-person event.
AYCC acknowledges the leadership of First Nations people and communities in the fight for justice, and is committed to supporting First Nations young people to learn critical skills for campaigning in their communities.
All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who sign up for Power Shift will automatically receive a free ticket at minimum.
Applying for scholarships is super simple - just fill out the application form and we’ll be in touch!
Please read our Code of Conduct form before applying.
