About Mietta:

Mietta Skuthorpe-Spearim is a proud Gamilaroi and Batja woman from the Pilliga in North West NSW and comes from a staunch family of First Nations activists fighting for land rights and climate justice.

Mietta is part of Gomeroi Ngaar (meaning Gomeroi Strong) fighting to stop mining giant Santos building 850 coal seam gas wells on Gamilaroi Gomeroi Land. Mietta is a high school student and recently joined School Strike for Climate in Sydney with a strong call for everyone, especially young people, to take action to stop Santos and stop dangerous gas expansion.
