This September, join hundreds of young people for three days of learning, inspiration and action to create a better world at Power Shift.
For the first time ever, Power Shift is running as a hybrid event. This means that we’re running both an in-person event and an online summit at the same time! You can choose what type of ticket you want when you register - but first, here’s some info on what a hybrid event looks like.
Whether you come to Power Shift IRL, or Power Shift Online, you’ll…
Hear from some inspiring speakers, including staunch activists on the frontlines of the fight against fossil fuels, experts who know how we fix this mess, and other young people who are using their power to create change. (but you’ll have to stay tuned to find out who)
Participate in workshops covering everything from telling your personal story and creating campaigns on issues affecting your community, to the history of climate justice resistance in so-called Australia and finding out what a just transition for fossil fuel communities looks like
Learn practical skills to take action back home, build support in your community for climate justice and turn up the heat on our politicians for urgent climate action
Co-create the visions of climate justice that work for all of us and collectively imagine the future we’re fighting for
Get to meet hundreds of like-minded, passionate young people from all corners of the continent (and even a few other countries in the Asia/Pacific region!)
The programs for Power Shift IRL and Power Shift Online will differ slightly, so that whether you’re in Brisbane or zooming in, you get the most out of the experience. Many of our workshops, plenaries and speakers will be the same - just delivered in a different style! The full program, including list of speakers and workshop schedule, is still in development - but by signing up, you’ll be the first to know!

It’s going to take all of us to transform our world - which means creating an event accessible to as many people as possible is super important.
We know that for people who live in regional and remote areas, are immunocompromised, have caring responsibilities, live internationally, or who don’t feel comfortable attending large, in-person gatherings, having an exciting online event provides a meaningful way to access the event and take part in all of the workshops, presentations, and social time.
We also know that after two years largely spent in isolation from one another, people are craving opportunities to hang out in person again and attend big events.
And of course - the Covid pandemic is far from over, so it’s important to have an event that not only gives people the option to choose how they want to participate, but also means that in the event of sudden changes to health restrictions on in-person gatherings, we are ready to pivot to an online model.
